Congratulations to the graduates of the Siksika Heavy Equipment Operator Training program in 2020.
We started with 8 weeks and extended it to 11 weeks to ensure the students got the most out of the program. Having the immediate hands on training with the various equipment was essential to our early learning, and was a major factor to our success.
It was an amazing experience and we are truly grateful that our 2020 program was able to take place on Treaty 7 land with Siksika Nation.
My future looks amazing and for my nation to recognize me as the first female grader operator is very rewarding. I drive by construction sites and see their machines and say that I CAN OPERATE THAT MACHINE!!! Thank you Jeff for your amazing knowledge!!! Pamela Edwards, Certified heavy equipment operator!!!
Congratulations to Andrew Pretty Young Man as he was one of 10 graduates from our 2020 Heavy Equipment Training program at Siksika. Andrew had a late start to the program, however he was willing to put in the extra hours needed to graduate.
We first met Howard Pym on day one of training. At the time he was an experienced Grader operator working for roads. During his first two weeks with our instructors, Howard was surprised at how much more he could do with the Grader. Congratulations on successful completion Howard!
